Overall Responsibilities:

The primary function of the Project Engineer (PE) is to manage and support internal and field operations on projects. As an extension of the Project Manager, your primary responsibilities will be to aid in leadership, administrative and logistics support for all ongoing projects and daily functions by contributing proactively in improving workflow and procedures while ensuring that all project processes, expenses and personnel meet or exceed all company requirements and project objectives; safely, on-time and on-budget.

Key Areas include but not limited to:
  • Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project plans, documentation and reports
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously from project origination to close-out
  • Develop full scope of work, obtain contractor and vendor bid proposals, evaluate and select contractors, and accurately estimate total costs for assigned projectsAct as a point of contact and communicate project status to internal and external customers
  • Analyze risks and opportunities
  • Schedule and confirm scope of work, equipment, deliveries, etc. to contractors and personnel
  • Schedule meetings, phone calls, site visits, etc.
  • Review, approve & assign accounts payable
  • Data entry
  • Project Accounting/Reporting– track and monitor all costs associate with assigned projects to ensure project stays within budget
  • Procurement/Purchasing – issue purchase orders to vendor and contractors
  • Forecasting/Budget management – provide quarterly spending forecast for assigned projects
  • Fixed Asset allocation
  • Management of digital and hard copy project databases
  • Develop detailed project plans, identify project dependencies, and facilitates project meetings with contractors to ensure all project activities are communicated and that critical path items stay on track
  • Direct and assign specific tasks required to internal and external team appropriately
  • Oversee and manage all contractors, vendors, and maintenance personnel, during the installation and start-up of all equipment
  • Ensure all project activities are communicated and coordinated with the appropriate plant personnel
  • Request and process vendor and subcontractor required information
  • Track project progress and advises parties of possible overruns, and critical project issues
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance to organize all required training of plant personnel
  • Works with vendors and contractors to resolve any project related issue and efficiently close-out all punch list items.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Engineering Degree
  • 1-2 years of experience coordinating and supporting on construction and engineering projects
  • Purchasing experience
  • Construction experience
  • Microsoft Office with strong Excel knowledge
  • Microsoft project experience a plus
  • Manufacturing experience preferred 
  • Attention to detail and accurate Data Entry
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
