Commercial Finance Manager

Position Purpose
The Commercial Finance Manager will play a key role to support the Sales and Marketing
departments to provide support for all financial aspects of their business units to ensure a high
degree of financial oversight, cost optimization, planning and analysis. This is a role that is
externally focused and enables the Sales and Marketing teams to accelerate profitable top line
growth. The candidate needs to have strong analytical skills, business acumen, and strong
communication skills. This position will work within the finance department with a high level of
exposure to Senior Management including the CFO, VP of Sales, and the VP of Marketing.

Essential Job Functions/Key Accountabilities
 Provides financial support to Sales and Brand Marketing departments.
 Project leader for process improvements in the areas of trade fund management.
 Manage trade spending analysis and work with account managers to eliminate waste and
increase return on promotional investment.
 Recommend actions to improve product mix, gross margin, as well as customer profitability.
 Present analysis information and company action plans to all levels of the organization
 Analyze monthly variances vs plan, communicate results to management team, and
recommend interventions to ensure target delivery.
 Support key finance / company-wide planning processes including:
o Annual Budget and interim forecast updates
o Monthly Rolling Net Sales Forecasts
o Marketing Plan Dialogue (MPD)
o Selling Plan Dialogue (SPD)
 Support the preparation of customer negotiations with financial analysis, including financial
modeling for new products in the organization.
 Responsible for all month-end accounting activities ensuring accuracy of Profit & Loss (P&L)
accounts as well as Balance Sheet accounts
 Creates ad hoc reports as needed by supported departments and Finance Upper
Management.

 CPG experience strongly preferred

Experience
Required
 Minimum 5-8 years Finance Management experience
Preferred
 3 plus years of leadership and people management
 Proven track record of developing high potential talent

Education
Required
 Bachelor’s degree
Preferred
 Master’s degree in related field
 CPA is a plus

Other Requirements
 Ability to effectively work under pressure, managing multiple and changing priorities
 Peak Accounting and / Finance time lines will require extra hours in the office
